What’s better than a medium rare, grilled, grass-fed burger? That same burger with bacon IN it! That’s right, we have a grilled paleo bacon burger recipe.
Pretty straightforward, but a few little tweaks and tips below you may have not known, so read along and then go ahead and fire up your grill, get your meat out and make yourself one of the biggest and baddest burgers that you’ve ever had.
Very simple, yet crucial addition to the standard burger: bacon. Bacon burger. The best. Chime in below if you made any modifications! Share this with your friends if you liked it!
- 1 pound grass-fed beef
- 1/2 pound bacon
- salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- The easiest way to get this done is to stack the bacon slices up then chop finely. Cook on lowest setting until the bacon becomes cooked through. This step isn't entirely necessary if you're cooking your burgers all the way through but if you're cooking medium rare burgers you're going to have raw bacon in the middle if this step is skipped. A little weird.
- In a mixing bowl, combine beef, cooked bacon, garlic and spices. Combine with hands until everything is mixed evenly. Make patties as large as you want but a little over palm width and about an inch thick is ideal.
- Heat grill and grill burgers. The trick to getting the juiciest and tastiest burger is to turn once, 90 degrees, flip once and repeat. Flipping side to side, over and over again is going to cause the burger to dry out and taste like sand. No one wants this!
- Serve on bed of lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, topped with peppers, mushrooms, jalapeno, or more bacon. Get creative and keep it fresh!
