Creamy Garlic Dill Dipping Sauce

The big game is coming up pretty soon here and you know what that means? Yep. Wing time. Americans are ready to eat over ONE BILLION (yes, with a B) wings on Super Bowl Sunday. Pretty ridiculous. Chances are you’re going to be around some wings as well.

With all those wings, everyone is going to need something to dip them in. Enter our creamy garlic dill sauce. If you’re one of the paleo people who doesn’t like dairy, that’s fine, more sauce for me. I could rant on why I think people who can tolerate dairy should be using good sources of dairy as highly nutritious food. This is not the time nor place.

To summarize what is going on here, we are using some full fat greek yogurt as the base of the creamy garlic dill sauce. Everyone is always up in arms that we can’t digest milk sugars (lactose), well, turns out that fermentation is the process of bacteria eating that sugar for us. If you don’t tolerate dairy, then this still may not be the recipe for you as you may be sensitive to a milk protein (whey or casein). If you can tolerate dairy but don’t eat it for some arbitrary reason, think again!

This garlic dill sauce is a guilt-free substitute to the traditional bleu cheese or ranch sauces that include canola oil, conventional mayo, and other strange ingredients. Oh, and it is also super easy to make! This recipe will use a blender, but a food processor will work just fine. It will keep in a container in the fridge for up to a week, so make ahead of time if you’re bringing these to a party!

If you’re still uncertain about dairy use, I’ll be writing a series addressing how to incorporate it if you tolerate it and why I think it can be a healthy food. Until then, enjoy this creamy garlic dill sauce and please SHARE if you liked the recipe!

Here’s how to make it:
